Is Mounjaro the miracle drug?

There’s still a buzz around the weight loss drugs that I’ve written about previously. Skinny celebs adorned the Oscars and people are shrinking before our eyes.

So is this the end of dieting? Well, not quite apparently. Despite the celebrity

I actually sat in on the discussions when the national institute of clinical excellence (NiCE) discussed the appraisal of Mounjaro last year. They recommend it on the NHS only for those with a BMI of over 35 and who have another weight-related illness.

However, private prescriptions mean that it’s available on line and as revealed in a recent documentary revealed , children are managing to procure it as well as people who do not need to lose weight.

But my concerns about these so-called skinny jabs are not regarding whether or not they work - clearly they do - it is more about whether this is really the answer to our weight loss struggles, as I explain below.
